Here's to spring

I haven't written for awhile. Not too much has been happening out of the ordinary. Yesterday I took a vacation day in honor of my friend Linda's 65th birthday. It was nice to see so many of my friends and spend time with them. We had such a good time. Linda informed me that the Sun Princess cruise ship on the news, the one that had the fire on board was the one they were on the week before. In fact the cabin they stayed in was one of the ones that was destroyed. We ate way too much food. Everyone brought something so Kim and Val didn't have to make anything . This morning I woke up and the sun was shining brightly. I did a load of laundry and hung it out in the sunshine to dry. I washed my utility floor and cleaned all the ashes out of the fireplace. It feels good to have so much energy. If I didn't have to go to work tonight I think I would have jumped in the car and driven to Kamloops to have a cup of coffee at Sonya's house. We could drink it on the porch. I hope everyone out there has a great day.

My friend Linda turned 65 yrs. and her kids are making her a surprise party. We have been friends for over 30 years and I feel very blessed. May you all have a sunny day.

the new look

This morning I woke up and looked in the mirror and thought it was Kramer. My hair was standing up all over the place. Barb agreed with me that I needed the top trimmed. Lately when I have gone to have a trim, I have come home almost bald!. George offered to trim my hair. First I went to the center to have a bowl of chicken borscht and roll kuchen. Then I went to run some errands and buy supplies to make my Easter Paski tomorrow. I went home feeling really nice and warm on the inside and sat downand allowed George to trim my hair. I was really freaked out the first time I looked in the mirror. My hair was flat and round on top and bushy on the sides like a clown. Yikes.! I went and washed it and actually it is alright. Well I have to get ready to go to work.May you allhave a great day.

what a great day

What a great day we have today. I haven't written for awhile. I've been working a lot. I was off yesterday, but tired because I did a night shift the night before. We went to Church today. It was a great service. the worship was really good. My co-worker Michael brought a lady friend to Church today. He was very secretive about their relationship. He told me I would be the first to know if he was serious about her. LOL We met Barb for lunch at McDonald's after our Church services were over. We came home and drove to the Matsqui dyke to walk Roxy our dog. There were a lot of people walking and cycling. Roxy refused to walk, so George and I ended up carrying most of the time. The neighbourhood is nice and peaceful today. I am going to go and read outside in the back yard. Wishing you all a great day.

my own little world

Well the day wan't quite without events. Kevin, our neightbour got robbed today while he was at work. Somebody broke into his house and stole his rigle. It was registered. We think the theives will be back. They packed a lot of his belonings into boxes. Somebody saw two guys on bicycles coming from his driveway today. Maybe tomorrow they will come back with a vehicle. His german shpherd, Sammy didn't help any. Unfortunately he is old and deaf. It's a sad world. I am trusting God that He will continue to protect us. I refuse to give in to fear. We have been here a lot longer than the criminals. Now I'm going to go to bed and have a good sleep. I wish you all a good and safe sleep.

my own little world

Well the day was not quite uneventuful. After supper I took our dog Roxy for a walk. When I came back, there were 2 policemen at our neighbour Kevin's house. He had been robbred during the day while he was at work. George saw 2 guys on bicycles ringing Kevin's door bell in the morning and later a lady down the street saw the same 2 guys ringing the doorbell at another house. They check to see if anyone is home and come back and break in and steal. How sad. Kevin has a big German shephard. Unfortunately Sammy is old and deaf. Kevin said that Sammy probably helped them. Personally I am trusting that God is going to keep protecting us. I refuse to be scared out of our neighbourhood. We were here long befored the criminals. I wish you all a good sleep.

I haven't written for awhile. Not much has been happening. I've been working a lot and going to staff meeting. Theweather hasn't been that great. Yesterday after staff meeting, my friend Mary and I went to the senior center for homade chicken soup and buns and dessert. We had a good time.Today I went to Walmart to pick up a few items and ran into Barb!LOL. So Barb and I had a little lunch at McDonald's. I ran into my friend Lynn who was having lunch by herself so I took time to visit with her. On my way out of Walmart I actually ran into the same guy who Barb and I tried to help on Saturday. (the guy we ran away from.) Well I couldn't believe it. He was dressed just fine and was carrying a shopping bag from "Aldos" and he had the nerve to smile at me and say "Hi.how are you?". I didn't answer him, but kept right on walking to my car. I guess he hasn't been banned from Walmart yet. It is quiet here at home. George is reading a book and Barb is having a nap, so I'll try to keep busy without being too noisy. I hope you are all enjoying your Spring break with your family and friends.

never a dull moment

Life's good. Sounds like you had a good date. Personally I do no like Greek food, but I love licorice. Last night at work I took Debbie to Starbucks to meet Susan her friend from 164th. That was fun and then we wandered around the mall. Today I worked with Michael, a tall and very dark native of Kenya who now goes to our Church. We invited 88th house for lunch. My friend Rosalind brought two clients, Richard and Diana. It was fun. the day went by so quickly. George made supper, chicken stir fry and rice. It tasted really good. For dessert we had the leftover cinnamon buns. Then I took Barb to London drugs to get cold medicine. We stopped at Starbucks for hot chocolate where I also admired Sonya's new water container. I held it in my hands and turned around a few times to see if I would get the feeling of being real cool. No go. I guess I'm too old. Barb and I chatted with my friends Ron and Judy, nice people. Ron gave this guy a few dollars. That's too simple for me. He had a Bible under his arms and i asked him if he was a Christian. I wanted to buy him supper at Tim Hortons, but he wanted to go to Save-on-foods to pick up a few items. Well we go in and a minute later we all; go out. It turns out he's been panhandling in the mall and stores. So He convinces us to go with him to london Drugs to get a few granola bars. We ask him if he's allowed in there. He says no , but goes right past Starbucks. this is where Barb and I exit stage left and literally run(what a sight) duck into my car and drive off with the lights off and no seatbelts. When we were almost home I buckled up and turned on the lights. Ididn't know that going to the drugstore was so much work. Now I'm going to try to have a quiet evening. I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine. Blessings to you all.

a beautiful sunny day

Today I went out to pay bills and run errands. It's fantastic out there. I still have my bronchitis but I'm so tired of it I'm planning to ignore it and go on with life. Today at the bank, I ran into Sonya and Barb's friend Doris. We had a nice chat and I gave her Sonya's e-mail address. Doris has two little girls, aged 2 and 4yrs. She does the bookeeping for her sister ands brother-in-law. then I went to Seven Oaks Mall to Sears to return some items that were two small. they just don't make the sizes the way they used to. Then I ran into my brother Pete and his wife Helen and their friends. By that time I was so hungry I bought a dozen cinnamon buns with lots of creamed icing and went home and had lunch. this afternoon I'm going back to work. I'm working with my friend Mary which means it should be an interesting shift. I shall pray for all the mothers who are not going away for spring break. Keep on smiling. Some people may wonder what you've been up to and others will wonder what medication you're on.

A lot to be thankful for

I haven't written for awhile. I have bronchitis and seem to get very tired, causing me to sleep more than usual. Today I actually got dressed and made the bed before 10 am. Yesterday I slept most of the day. Today the mailman brought a nice surprise. Thank you Sonya for the cheque. I love surprises. The sun is trying to shine today and I don't need to go to work. Those are two things to be thankful for. Yesterday morning I was not in Church, but as I looked out my kitchen window, I saw the first robin this year and it was finding worms in our lawn. I looked across the street and saw some crocuses blooming. Surely spring is just around the corner. Another thing to be thankful for. Winter doesn't go on forever. I've lost my appetite. Another thing to be thankful for. That means I should lose a few pounds. I'm also very thankful for my family. They bring me much joy. I don't know what I would do without a single one of them. Always remember that your family is your treasure, a gift from God. Have yourself a beautiful day and God bless you.
