losing my memory

I don't know whether I'm so busy or just plain forgetfulness. Yesterday was my nephew Ron's birthday. I put the note on the fridge a week ago. Well I went off to work yesterday and realized I forgot to phone him. So I just remembered now a whole day later. Of course the card is going to be real late. Today after staff meeting my friend Mary and I went to McDonald's for lunch. Barb joined us. After eating I went to my car and I joked with Mary. I said hey lucky me I am parked next to a citizen's patrol car. My car is so safe. Well when I got there this older man came up top me as I was unlocking my car and told me to come check the back. I thought maybe somebody had dinged it. It turns out that my insurance had run out eleven days ago. Yeh can you believe, we've been driving all over tarnation for 11 days without insurance. I made sure I quickly got home on all the back roads and took the other car and immedietly went and got insurance. Now I keep wondering whether I've forgotten anything else. George has been very busy with the hedge. He went to the tree farm way out on the other side of Matsqui village and dug up 120 trees and put the burlap on them. Pretty good for a guy of 70 years. He was going to remove the hedge himself, but it is too thick. Today we hired a professional who is coming next Tuesday. Then he will plant the new trees himself. It looks really strange looking out the window and being able to look down the road.I feel a little sad because my friend Mary and her husband are probably going to move to Winnipeg as early as this spring. I will really miss her. On a positive note, the weather has been absolutely beautiful the last few days. I've been getting up early and taking the dog for an hour of walking. It is so refreshing. Today Barb's friend Brandy joined us for supper. We had bean soup and homemade buns for dessert . We had Angel Food cake with hot blueberry sauce. Well I've had my bubble bath and it's time to wind down to prepare for my night shift. I hope you all have a good week. God bless.

I find that the more things I have to think about, the more likely I am to forget something. Once you retire you should have a lot less to think about. Hopefully. :)

That's too bad that your friend Mary is moving away. You and her have been such good friends for so many years now.

I'm glad that Dad decided to hire a pro to do the trees. I was pretty worried about him trying to get those all out by himself.
