Out with the old and in with the new
Well it's been an interesting week at our house. A couple of weeks ago we decided to remove our hedge which is over 30 years old. It was getting very dry inside and too wide. I loved that beautiful hedge. We hired someone to come and saw off all 120 trees . Then another company came and up rooted them. This process took over a week. In the meantime the property is looking very bare. I was in for a shock. The lady in the house next to us has such a messy back yard that when the guy was cutting down the trees he literally stopped and asked if he should continue. She must have about one hundred Tim Horton pails scattered around her yard. She bakes there at night and I guess she brings home the empty pails. We still don't know what she is planning to do with them. One of her lawn chairs is literally hanginging in her other neighbour's hedge. So today George went out in the rain and started planting our new trees. He finished the front which helps a bit . They are only about 5 ft. tall and not very wide. We are thankful for every little tree. Tonight we had our leftover cabbage borscht from yesterday and buns. We also finished off our leftover rhubarb strawberry pie. ymm yum. This coming Sunday we are having my brothers and their wives over for supper for George's 70th birthday. Next week on Valentine's day, Barb and I are taking George to the Sphagetti factory for supper. (One of his favorite places.). Tomorrow there is a funeral for Eddie Braun, a long time client of MCC. Well my hot chocolate with the marshmallows in is finished so I must go. Enjoy your week.
