busy week
Well it's been a busy week. Besides going to work, we have been looking for flooring for our dining room. George ande I have been everywhere, believe me when I say everywhere. We thought we had found what we were looking for so we bought the wood flooring and brought it home. At the store the guy said there was no return on it because it was on sale. George asked him to open a bundle, but the guy said it was hard to reseal and it all looked like the samples on top. So we bought it. George got the floor already, tearing out the old floor and preparing for the new. When we opened up the bundle we were horrified to see three different shades. We opened 4 of the 8 bundles and spread them out and took pictures. I phoned the manager of the store and she said we could bring them back but had to repackage them. It took us three hours the next morning to do this. We brought the wood back and spent another day and a half looking again. Saturday morning after my night shift we went and bought the hardwood flooring we liked and George has started putting it down. We really love it so far. Yesterday after my short nap I did two loads of laundry, baked four and half dozen oatmeal cookies and an angel food cake. I fried salmon steaks for supper with mashed poatoes and veggies. This morning we went to Church and then George, Barb, and I went out to Tim Hortons for lunch where we met Heather's Grandma and Grandpa Klassen. They are so sweet. After lunch George and I took Roxy for a walk around Mill Lake. It was so pretty with the fall leaves. Then Barb and I went to the cemetery to Oma and Opa's cemetery plot and to Grandma Krahn's and Byron and Collin's. It was really nice and peaceful. Tonight we will all just rest up for the new week. I wish you all a pleasant week. We will be going to the Larnders on Friday morning after I get home from night shift. Yah!.

That's crazy about your first batch of wood being mismatched! Did you get real hardwood or laminate? I bet it looks really good in the dining room. You'll have to get Barb to help you post a picture of it. :)
