staff appreciation day

Today was a great day. Our group home had staff appreciation day just for our house. We were in the board room of mcc office. We had a great speaker this morning. She used to work in the prison system. She had us do all kinds of interesting little self evaluations. Then we did a murder mystery. That was a lot of fun. We didn't get the murderer correct, but she said we did great teamwork. All morning there was a huge container of Easter eggs and homade banana bread on the table with lots of coffee. We played some really interesting games. For lunch we had greek food from the Greek Isles restuarant. We had greek salad and chicken and beef shishkabobs with rice and potaoes and sauce. MMM good...Of course the whole administration was there for lunch. After lunch we listened to all the nice things they said about us. Then we were all given a ten dollar gift certificate to starbucks. Gene Klassen took our group photo. Smile. Then our entire group home went to the United Church where we were surprised by a group of ladies in outfits. It turned out that we had an hour of line dance lessons. It was really fun. The only guy in our group skipped out and went home. Then we all went home. My friend Mary and I are signing up for line dance lessons in Sept.. In the meantime we are going to get some videos to practice. I think most of the ladies in our home are planning to take lessons. I think it beats "curves". One hour a week for 4.oo per lesson. I came home and after supper I walked the dog. At work we have a new excercise program for allMCC. We have to write down on our chart how many min a day we excercised and what it was. After 3 mos. the winner gets a prize. I plan to win.lol. Today I got a step machine from free cycle and a brand new step counter. So I'm ready people. It's been a great day.
